Periodically, ERI hires junior lawyers in each of our four offices as Bertha Legal Fellows. These fellows are lawyers trained or licensed in the country or region where the office is located. Additionally, we work with suitable candidates - both lawyers and non-lawyers - who are interested in applying for fellowships provided by schools or foundations in order to do work with ERI. If you are eligible for a fellowship that you believe would allow you to work with ERI, please contact us. Candidates in this position will need to raise their own funding.

The Bertha Legal Fellowships are the primary way that ERI accepts junior lawyers in our Washington, D.C., office, and we will rarely accept outside-funded fellows for this office. We are happy to work with U.S. law students and lawyers interested in applying for outside fellowships to work in our other offices.

ERI regularly offers volunteer internship opportunities to law students and university graduate or undergraduate students in our offices in Peru, Thailand and Washington DC. Intern duties, expectations and application requirements vary for each internship.
