TAKE ACTION - Sign the Petition to Defend ATCA PDF Print E-mail

ATCA can now be used to bring transnational corporations like Unocal, Chevron, Shell, Chiquita and others to justice for violation of international human rights law, such as violent persecution of environmental activists or reliance on brutal security forces to secure land for extractive and agricultural projects.

However, the Bush administration is trying to diminish or eliminate ATCA as a tool of corporate accountability. In several cases, the Justice Department has filed friend-of-the-court briefs to challenge the validity of ATCA. Tell the U.S. government that ATCA cases must continue to be allowed to fight their way through the court system.

Sign our petition to protect ATCA now and ensure that it continues to be protected in the future.
